Autoclaves and sterilization retorts are high-temperature, pressurized vessels used for thermal sterilization after packaging. Also known as retort sterilizers, they are suitable for canned meat, poultry, fish, egg products, and certain canned vegetables that require high-temperature sterilization.
The sterilization process is typically carried out at around 121°C, helping ensure stable and safe processing for canned food production lines.
Steam Type
- Principle: Steam is used directly as the sterilization medium.

- Metal containers: Tinplate cans, such as luncheon meat cans and canned fish
- Flexible packaging: Aluminum foil pouches and high-temperature retort pouches for lightweight products
- Glass containers: Not recommended
- Plastic containers: PP bottles are not recommended
- Other sterilization applications: Medical waste, edible fungi, wood, soil, and related materials
Spray Type
Water Immersion Type
- Principle and Features: Water immersion sterilization is used to heat and sterilize packaged products evenly during the retort process.

- Plastic containers: PP bottles, such as coconut milk bottles and soy milk bottles; HDPE bottles
- Flexible packaging: Aluminum foil pouches, transparent pouches, and vacuum pouches, including food pouches, condiment sauce pouches, wet pet food, corn, chicken feet, dried tofu, meat products, and related packaged foods
